Modern Revival

This project involved the transformation of a double-fronted period home into a high-end, architecturally resolved residence, combining a full internal renovation with a substantial rear extension.
The original structure was retained and enhanced to preserve its character—highlighted by high ceilings and traditional detailing—while the new works introduced a contemporary form that seamlessly connects old and new. The extension was designed to open the home up, creating a clear transition from the front heritage rooms into a modern, light-filled living environment.
The rear of the home forms the centrepiece of the build, delivering an expansive open-plan living, dining and kitchen zone anchored by high-spec finishes and refined material selections. A Miele-equipped kitchen with stone benchtops, polished concrete flooring with integrated heating and a feature fireplace all combine to create a high-performance living space that is both functional and visually striking. The layout extends directly to a large alfresco deck and landscaped outdoor area, forming a strong indoor-outdoor connection and effectively expanding the usable footprint of the home.
Throughout the residence, the build focuses on delivering a premium, cohesive outcome, with three bedrooms, multiple bathrooms and a dedicated home office integrated into the overall design. The master suite is configured as a private retreat with walk-in robes and a fully appointed ensuite, while the remaining spaces maintain a consistent level of finish and detail. The result is a complete reworking of the original dwelling into a high-end residential product, where the extension and renovation operate as one unified build rather than separate elements, delivering a refined inner-urban home suited to modern living.
